This year’s Supplier’s Day, presented by the New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists, brought together over 130 leading suppliers of ingredients, equipment, packaging and services to the personal care industry. These suppliers – which included large global companies like BASF, Cargill and Hyundaibioland as well as many interesting niche companies – offer advanced science and technology solutions to support the cosmetic, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, supplement, household and industrial segments.
Many companies are promoting plant-based materials that are environmentally safe and ethically sourced. It won’t be long before these organic materials are on shelf, driven by consumer demand for natural ingredients in beauty and health products – including moisturizers, botanicals, skin and hair conditioners, biologicals, proteins, antioxidants, amino acids (etc.). Some suppliers ensure that these nature-derived ingredients are sourced from an integrated, responsible supply chain that supports sustainable growth.
